February 1,
alright so I got my first flower to bloom for the year 2013. its a purple hyacinth, she's small but she's beautiful none the less.

I started my flower bed last march and it was rough when I started working it, but now... yea now, since I just let it wild during the fall and winter, I have my hands full. My little garden needs a lot of work and I went out and picked weeds and dead grass but I ran out of heat and sunlight. I live in Monument NM, by the way, where its mostly desert. Yea stuff grows here but usually if u just look around you see musket bushes, and tall dead grass. its really rocky here so I have to dig up a lot of rocks and the soil... yea in some places my 'soil' is sand and others its just like gravel so I dunno, we'll see. This the result of my days work, and to be honest its not bad. I think im gonna work on it all week end and have a goal set, a goal like, no more weeds, very little grass and a lot of dirt showing.
I've got a lot of work ahead of me, as you can see. and I saw some little shrubs that look like maybe some small tulips coming up, how exciting. and plus the daffodils that I planted last year, if any lived, are gonna be coming up soon. Or at least I hope/ think so, after all im pretty sure they are February blooms. Im not sure they were plentiful and beautiful in March, but I got them in Bexar Arkansas, and I thought they were amazingly beautiful so my uncle rounded me up a bunch and into my little mini garden they went. So, we'll cross our fingers and see. Im thinking about getting some graph paper and sketching this little bed out and seeing what else if anything I can plant in it but I first theres the grass and the weeds, they and geometry are my first enemys to take down. well we'll get there and get it taken care of. bottom line, my hyacinth was the first to bloom, and in febuary, and I have a lot of work to do if I wanna keep it looking beautiful.

Like I said we'll get it done. One way or another.
